Our team were tasked to relocate three existing temporary classrooms from other schools in the county to St Benedict’s School in 2019.
The project began with groundworks at St Benedict’s ahead of the removal of the classrooms from each donor site – alongside asbestos reviews through a Refurbishment & Demolition Survey required by HSE.
All necessary service connections were also arranged ahead of their arrival.
Cranes were installed to help place the temporary classrooms before we conducted extensive internal modification works, as well as the installation of new heating and alarm systems.
The BOOT team overcame numerous challenges throughout the build – notably the tight timeframe to get everything ready over the summer holidays ahead of the autumn term.
Safety considerations were also paramount – particularly surrounding the installation of the crane – to ensure the wellbeing of all on site.
We demonstrated our professionalism and proactive problem solving skills throughout the project, liaising closely with our design partners at Concertus and the school team to ensure smooth execution.
Pupils moved into the classrooms at the beginning of the autumn term, with a smooth transition topping off another successful project.
