Here, our Finance Director Vicky Norris takes a walk down memory lane on a brilliant 2023 as we cast our eyes on some exciting things in the pipeline this year.
Celebrating 2023
Last year was certainly one to remember for team BOOT.
We retained our place on the Suffolk Construction and Building Services Framework, opening our doors once again to an extensive range of high-profile projects.
That included a decarbonisation project for Suffolk Highways which allowed us to showcase our environmental prowess. The project – which is ongoing – has served up some unique but exciting challenges, especially considering the site remains fully operational while our work continues.
We expect to take on further decarbonisation jobs in the future as the race to net zero heats up for businesses across the country.
Other happy clients include the NHS, ESNEFT and private work. We couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved.
The BOOT team also welcomed a new face to round off 2023 – Marley the cocker spaniel! He brings a lot of skills to the table – but we’ll need to wait for his high-vis and hard hat to arrive.
And we can’t finish talking about 2023 without mentioning Paul’s 50th birthday – marking 34 years of working in the industry. Not that he’s counting.
Looking ahead to 2024
This year is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in our history.
We’ve got numerous projects nearing completion, including our stunning bespoke home build on the East Suffolk coast.
You’ll notice we have now revealed our rebrand, with our new logo and website giving BOOT a fresh, modern look that perfectly captures who we are and what we do.
But that isn’t the only fresh look we’ll be receiving this year.
We’ll soon officially open to our new state-of-the-art office space in Mid Suffolk, with space to grow the BOOT team further and in turn take on more high-profile projects. Watch this space!
What will this year look like for the industry?
Reports indicate the construction industry is projected to experienced steady, moderate growth in various sectors this year.
Among those areas we are expecting to see good growth include education – as well as the inevitable rise in decarbonisation projects.
There is no denying that 2023 was a difficult year for the industry – but nothing we were not able to overcome. From increased construction expenses to interest rate hikes and national supply chain issues, our astute planning and strong relationships with local suppliers and subcontractors has made for much smoother waters.
With all that considered, we are optimistic and excited about what 2024 has in store.
Planning a construction project this year? No matter the sector, BOOT are the team to call.
