BOOT names Suffolk Mind as charity of the year

All of us at BOOT Construction are delighted to unveil Suffolk Mind as our chosen charity of the year.

Mental health is something that affects us all – and the construction industry is no different.

We thrive under pressure but recognise the difference between being stretched and stressed, and that the demanding nature of the job can take its toll on worker wellbeing.

That’s why we are committed to creating a supportive environment where the mental health of all staff is prioritised.

Supporting our local mental health charity was therefore an easy decision to make – and we are fully behind their mission to make Suffolk the best place in the world to talk about and take care of mental health.

Paul Norris, our Managing Director, said: “Giving back to our community has always been a pillar of our business – not just in the projects we take on, but through what we do outside of the construction site.

“Mental health is rightfully becoming an increasingly important topic in the construction industry and is one we definitely recognise here at BOOT.

“We look forward to raising awareness of the incredible work Suffolk Mind do in our community alongside much-needed funds to help them on their mission.”

We have lots of exciting plans coming up to raise money for the charity and spread their message further.

Ashley Davey, our Contracts Manager who has already enrolled on a mental health training course, added: “It is great feeling knowing our work will go on to support such a worthwhile cause.

“My job has shown me the importance of taking the time to listen – and I firmly believe by raising awareness and providing support to Suffolk Mind we can foster a healthier, more positive environment that sets an example for the industry.”
